Aquaman star Amber Heard confirms that she has started training to return as Mera in Aquaman 2 ahead of the summer production of the DC sequel.
Amber Heard confirms the start of her training to replay Mera in Aquaman 2. Warner Bros. gave director James Wan the keys to the Aquaman franchise a few years ago and was based on Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After the more serious take on Aquaman under the direction of Zack Snyder, Wan changed the tone of his solo film and made Aquaman a huge blockbuster, vibrant and fun. Audiences responded incredibly well to the movie, as it made more than $ 1.1 billion worldwide, and WB moved quickly to get a sequel in development.
James Wan and writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick have been working on Aquaman 2 It’s been almost two years now, and the sequel is finally gathering momentum. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer in London, with most of the cast from the original film returning. It has also been announced that game of Thrones star Pilou Asbaek joins the DC Extended Universe. The details of the plot remain a mystery, but those involved have scoffed at his preparation for Aquaman 2production of. This includes Heard, who is now among the many cast members who confirm that she began training to return as Mera.
I’m listening posted a photo of her exercising on Instagram and confirmed it’s for Aquaman 2 prep in the caption. The image itself isn’t overly revealing on what Heard will do as Mera in the sequel. However, she is in a unique position with her co-stars as she is the one who most recently played her DC character. Heard returned as Mera for a brief additional photograph for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but that didn’t require any significant physical training ahead of time. With Heard set to take a leading role in a long production, he’s taking the steps necessary to be in great shape to Aquaman 2.
This photo officially allows Heard to follow in the footsteps of several of his Aquaman 2 co-stars in sharing their workouts. Patrick Wilson recently showed off this training to return as the Ocean Master in the sequel, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been preparing for Black Manta’s comeback since January. Heard may have been training almost as long, but has only now decided to share that information with fans. So far, Momoa hasn’t scoffed at her workout routine to get ready. Aquaman 2, but that shouldn’t be too much of a concern since he’s pretty much always in superhero form.
Now that Heard is training to return as Mera, she further solidifies that she will not be replaced for the sequel. Some fans wanted WB to recast Mera due to Heard’s ongoing legal battle with Johnny Depp, especially after WB asked him to step away from his role in Fantastic beasts 3. This was debunked earlier and is certainly not happening now that Heard is preparing for the summer shoot. It will be fascinating to see what Mera’s role is in Aquaman 2 even if. His relationship with Aquaman could continue to unfold, and hopefully more of his powers will also be explored when the sequel arrives in 2022.
