Anthony Mackie thanks fans for watching the Falcon and the Winter Soldier ending with a stunning image of his new Captain America costume. Marvel’s second series of Disney + came to a close with the finale on Friday, which introduced some major changes to the MCU. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier followed Sam Wilson (Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in the sequels to Avengers Endgame as they both struggled to find their place in a changed world and various new threats. Between the Flag-Smashers and a government-backed Captain America (Wyatt Russell’s John Walker), they had a lot on their hands.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 6, “One World, One Town” brought everything to a head when the Flag-Smashers launched their final attack. The episode featured several major developments, such as Walker’s repositioning as a US agent and the reveal that Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) is indeed the Power Broker (as many had suspected). However, the best and most anticipated part of The Falcon and the Winter SoldierThe finale was Sam’s debut as Captain America, something audiences had been waiting for since the final moments of Avengers Endgame.
Sam spent it all The Falcon and the Winter SoldierHe ran trying to decide if he wanted to be Captain America, and the end saw him take on the mantle with all his heart. This, of course, featured a new costume with comic book precision, much to the delight of fans. The day of the premiere of the final, Mackie took to social media to say “Thanks to everyone who has seen The Falcon and The Winter Soldier!“He included a great black and white photo of himself in his full Captain America suit striking an action pose with the shield. To properly culminate Sam’s journey, the series changed its name to Captain America and the Winter Soldier in the credits. This led many to believe that a season 2 is on the way, but it seems like Marvel is taking things in another direction. Hours after the episode debuted on Disney +, Marvel announced Captain america 4 is in development with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman. Although the studio chose not to say who will star in the film, it seems certain that Mackie will get his own Captain America movie.
Although the ending has received some mixed responses, there is no doubt that Sam becoming Captain America was the most celebrated moment. Time and time again, Sam has proven to be the perfect replacement for Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), and it’s amazing to see him finally take on the role. With Captain America 4, Sam can really settle into his new position now that the setup and first mission have been carried out. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier It was a good start, and now both Mackie and Sam are ready for what’s next.
