An official teaser for A24 Macbeth’s tragedy has been unveiled. Production on the film began in Los Angeles in early 2020 and concluded on July 23, following a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Directed by Joel Coen, the film opened at the New York Film Festival in September to overwhelmingly positive reviews and currently has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Oscar-winning Denzel Washington plays the titular Lord Macbeth, with Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth.
In the new teaser for Macbeth’s tragedy shared by A24, viewers enjoy an atmospheric monochromatic landscape and an accompanying intense drum beat. “Where does that blow come from?“Washington recites, presented in all Macbeth attire. He looks up at the rafters and finds three masked figures staring at him ominously before viewers see an empty throne, surrounded by falling leaves. Check out the teaser below:
Accompanying castmates Corey Hawkins, Alex Hassell, Kathryn Hunter, Harry Melling, Bertie Carvel, Moses Ingram, and Brendan Gleeson were also briefly glimpsed in the teaser. Macbeth’s tragedy It is based on the legendary 17th century play by William Shakespeare. Follow a Scottish general’s ill-fated journey to become king and the consequences of that ambition. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Christmas Day and will debut on Apple TV on January 14, 2022.
