The last photo from the next set Mission: Impossible 7 teases a new look for Rebecca Ferguson’s character, Ilsa Faust. The production of Christopher McQuarrie’s action thriller has been an on and off process due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In recent weeks, however, things have moved much faster, with production at Mission: Impossible 8 no longer scheduled to start directly after M: I7 wraps up.
For some fans of the ME series, the production issues facing this latest installment have been worrisome. Long, grueling productions are not only extremely expensive affairs, but they also tend to hint at underlying issues within the film itself. There have been numerous occasions throughout Hollywood history when a movie that took longer than expected to arrive eventually ended up not performing as well as expected. The case in question is that of 2018 Solo: A Star Wars Story, which suffered a litany of headaches and delays before its release, only to disappoint fans and become the lowest grossing live action. Star Wars movie ever made. But while M: from I7 The delays have been mainly due to Covid-19, there is still every reason to believe that the new movie will bring the kind of action and surprises that fans have come to expect from the series.
The last hint that Mission: Impossible 7 is potentially loaded with unexpected surprises comes from McQuarrie through his Instagram account. At first glance, the photo of Ferguson as Faust doesn’t seem to reveal too much. But upon closer inspection, he appears to be wearing an eye patch, pushed up to his forehead during a break from the action. McQuarrie seems keenly aware of the conjecture he’s creating with the post, simply choosing to accompany the photo with an ellipsis. It remains to be seen if this is due to McQuarrie’s belief that the photo speaks for itself or if the eye patch is a big clue in itself. See the photo below:
Since its introduction in the ME series in 2015 Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Faust has quickly become an integral part of the franchise. Wearing an eye patch has yet to become one of the character’s identifying traits, which means that M: I7 it could be about to introduce a new side to the character. On the other hand, the eye patch could be nothing more than a part of a larger costume that Faust uses for a mission. Given the franchise’s reputation for the most advanced high-tech gadgets, an eye patch that isn’t what it sounds like and offers some kind of edge is certainly not out of the question.
It is possible, of course, that Faust’s new look has nothing to do with a covert mission or highly advanced spy technology of any kind. Instead, it could be that the character is subject to unfortunate luck in Mission: Impossible 7 and really loses an eye. If this is the case, you’ll be in good movie company, as the last highly attractive female character to wear a patch on the big screen was Elle Driver in Quentin Tarantino. Kill bill Serie. Hopefully Fausto won’t meet a similar fate to Driver’s, but with each passing day, the arrival of Mission: Impossible 7 it becomes more and more attractive.
