Megan Fox Wants to Make Jennifer’s Body 2 or a Sequel TV Show

Megan Fox talks about her admiration for the 2009 horror comedy Jennifer’s Body and says she would like to make a sequel or TV series based on the film.

Megan Fox expressed interest in reviving Jennifer’s body either in the form of a sequel or possibly a television series. Released in 2009, the horror comedy became a celebrated cult classic despite its lack of success at the box office. Both writer Diablo Cody and Fox blamed the negative reception of Jennifer’s body about poor marketing. Since Fox’s breakthrough in Hollywood, she was credited for her role as Mikaela in Transformers, developed an uneven relationship with the industry as a whole and the limiting media description of her as a sex symbol without much scope. As a result, fans witnessed Fox’s slow transition out of the spotlight and into more specific roles to his liking, including the popular character Reagan in New girl.

Directed by Karyn Kusama (The invitation), Jennifer’s body centers on two teenage enemies from high school: an unapologetic hunk named Jennifer, and an insecure bookworm named Anita, played by Amanda Seyfried. After a disturbing encounter with a local indie rock band and their fiendish frontman, played by Adam Brody, Jennifer develops a literal thirst for the blood of her male partners. The film’s understated feminist themes and offbeat dialogue paint a picture that many have argued is more than meets the eye. With additional guest appearances by Amy Sedaris and JK Simmons, the cast of Jennifer’s Body and their nuanced performances help achieve the subtle but successful nodes of humor and intellect throughout the film.

In a recent interview with Washington Post, Fox spoke about a number of personal issues, including his desire to continue Jennifer’s bodystory in a movie or television show sequel. He also spoke about his battle with Hollywood’s inherent misogyny in the past and his inability to deal with the parameters of such a system. As Fox enters his 30s, he’s making plans to further push his re-entry into the movie scene. However, she is not looking to reserve anything. Despite numerous scripts that you have read with similar qualities, none of them match the unique caliber of Jennifer’s body.
