A new image of Sam Neill dating Jeff Goldblum is fueling rumors that Grandmaster will also appear in Thor: Love and Thunder.
A new image of Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum has people convinced that the Grandmaster will also appear in Thor: love and thunder. Chris Hemsworth rejoins director Taika Waititi after the success of Thor: Ragnarok, and this time, they have a much larger cast of characters. Aside from additions such as Jane Foster, Lady Sif, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Gorr the God Butcher, the film also brings back several players from its predecessor, which may very well include Grandmaster.
Debuting in Thor: Ragnarok As the leader of Sakaar, the Grandmaster also hosted the Contest of Champions, the gladiator battle in which Thor and the Hulk met. It was last seen at the end of the same movie left on Trash Planet after the people of Sakaar successfully staged a coup. It is unknown what happened to him after his defeat, but there is growing evidence pointing to the idea that he will somehow account for the narrative of Thor: love and thunder.
Taking it to his official Instagram account, Neill shared a picture of him and Goldblum enjoying a tour of Australia. While this could easily be a simple photo of them hanging out, considering how the coronavirus pandemic has made international travel so complicated, the fact that Goldblum is in the country hints that it may not just be there to be. a tourist. Check out the photo below:
Before this snap, Goldblum was also seen hanging out with the rest of the Thor: love and thunder cast, including Waititi. The group was watching a rugby match in Australia. Interestingly, it also featured Russell Crowe, and shortly after that, it was officially confirmed that he also tackled the film. Between the previous sighting and this new one, it’s safe to assume that Goldblum will reprise his MCU role as the Grandmaster in some way in the upcoming blockbuster. While it is unclear how exactly he can reunite with Thor after his fate in Ragnarok, he may have finally found his way back to New Asgard, considering it has supposedly been more than five years since he was overthrown on Sakaar.
Assuming the Grandmaster is actually in Thor: love and thunder, don’t expect him to play a major role in the movie. As with guest appearances like the Guardians of the Galaxy, Matt Damon, and Neill, returning as a fake Odin, there is a chance that his participation is only for a slightly longer cameo. This is to establish that continuity between the independent God of Thunder movies. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how it will be used efficiently in the movie.
