Olivia Liang Does Shang-Chi Bus Stunt To Celebrate Kung Fu Season 2

Kung Fu star Olivia Liang takes a break from Season 2 training to recreate Simu Liu’s double kick from the bus fight scene in Shang-Chi.

Kung Fu The star, Olivia Liang, is currently training for season 2 and shared a video of her recreating the iconic bus stunt from Shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings. Kung Fu is the CW reboot of the classic 1972 series starring David Carradine that ran over 3 seasons. The show, which ended its 13-episode season 1 in July, stars Liang, Eddie Liu, Kheng Hua Tan, and Shannon Dang. Kung Fu has already been renewed for season 2.

On Kung Fu, Olivia Liang plays Nickey Shen, a Harvard student who dropped out to study kung fu at a Chinese monastery. When he returns home, he must use his newfound abilities to fight a criminal triad and take revenge on the murderer who killed his master Shaolin. Throughout his adventures, he must face challenges like a murder in Chinatown, a sorority with a dark secret, and a K-pop concert in Las Vegas.

Now that production has begun on the new season, Liang is back in the studio training for his next kung fu challenges. On his Twitter, Liang posted a video with her coaches, explaining how she “he begged them“To show her the double kick that Shang-Chi performs in the MCU movie when he takes down the killers of the Ten Rings on the bus. She added:”Simu Liu, look at your back, I’m coming for you, I’ve trained for 300 more hours. “After performing the move, pretending to knock down his slippers, he strikes a cheeky pose on the mats. It seems that the Marvel mania affects both people within the industry and people outside. This video is both a delicious hack and a fun look at how passionate actors spend their free time between training sessions. Liang could very well have eaten some grapes and scrolled through Twitter, but he set about learning a move that he won’t even have to make on the show, just for the thrill of participating with an impressive feat from a fellow performer.

I wish, Shang-chi Star Simu Liu watches this video and responds in kind. Although Kung Fu has not been well received by fans of the original, an exciting conclusion is that Hollywood is at least making some progress in diversifying its storytelling. Just a couple of years ago, the idea of an Asian action franchise protagonist having another contemporary Asian action hero to pay homage to would have been inconceivable.
