Revenant writer Mark L. Smith says that Tarantino’s Star Trek movie would have had a gangster feel to it, something his previous films are well known for.

Acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is abandoned Star trek The movie would have had a gangster feel to it. For several years starting in 2017, fans of both Star trek and Tarantino thought they’d hit the jackpot. The notoriously violent and creative writer / director had made it clear that he was seriously considering making a Star trek movie. With his wide range of film and television knowledge, as well as being a huge fan of the original series, Tarantino seemed like the ideal candidate to do something new and exciting with the decades-old film franchise.

If the movie had happened, it would have been one of the few times in Tarantino’s career that he shared a writing credit. The 58-year-old had cast his vision of the type of Star trek movie I had in mind, and Paramount had brought Mark L. Smith (The reborn) to work with Tarantino on writing a script. Unfortunately, in 2019, Tarantino was busy with the release of Once upon a time in hollywood and he keeps insisting that he would only direct one more film before retiring from the cinema. After Once Upon a time took home rave reviews and two Oscars, Tarantino’s understanding of a possible Star trek The movie seemed dimmer than ever, and the general feeling among fans was that he had lost interest in the idea.

But how Movie Trek Tarantino’s idea for the film was reportedly intriguing, to say the least. While explaining the situation to Bulletproof scriptwriting On the podcast, Smith expanded on how Tarantino’s vision involved a classic 1930s gangster vibe, as well as time travel. Read what Smith said below:

It was through JJ Abrams, through Bad Robot. I’ve done a few things with them. And that’s why they always bring me things … But Tarantino, he wanted to do this. And then we all gather in a room and talk about ways to get in. After that, they just called me and said, “Hey, are you ready for it? Do you want to go? Quentin wants to flirt. “And I said,” Yeah. “And that was the first day I met Quentin, in the room and he was reading a scene that he wrote and it was an amazing and cool gangster scene, and he’s acting it like back and forth. I told him I was so mad I didn’t record it on my phone. It would be so valuable. It was amazing. So we started working. I was going to hang out at his house one night and we would watch old gangster movies. We were there for hours … We were chilling out watching gangster movies, laughing at the bad dialogue, but talking about how it would turn into what we wanted to do. Kirk is in on this, we got it. All the characters are there. It would be those guys. I guess you’d look at it like all the episodes of the show didn’t really connect. So this would almost be its own episode. A really good episode. There’s a bit of time travel stuff. There’s this whole other … it’s really wild.

Of course, no one ever knows if a movie is dead or not, especially in Hollywood. However, the fact that Tarantino’s latest film is something he’s not in a rush to deliver is a strong indication that he will take some time to let his creativity flow.
