A script for him Static shock The film is currently being written, according to Michael B. Jordan. Jordan is certainly no stranger to comic book movies or superheroes given his portrayal of Kilmomger in Black Panther, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest villains in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before starring opposite Chadwick Boseman, one of Jordan’s first breakthroughs came in the found-footage superhero movie. Chronicle.
Jordan’s next superhero adventure will be a film based on the DC Comics character Static Shock, which was announced by Warner Bros. at last year’s DC FanDome. Jordan will produce the film based on the beloved superhero Virgil Hawkins, also known as Static Shock. While Jordan won’t look like the titular hero, there is a chance that he will appear in a supporting role. There has been no official news on the cast, but Jaden Smith is rumored to appear in the title role, considering Virgil is a teenage hero like Spider-Man. While the character has appeared in several animated series, this will be his film debut.
Now for Collider, Michael B. Jordan himself has an update on the Static shock movie. While the project does not yet have a director or any cast member attached, it does have a writer in Randy McKinnon who is currently working on a first draft of the script. Right now we have a writer, Randy McKinnon, who’s putting together a shot and a draft right now, very excited … I mean, again, as a kid watching Static Shock, it was something that inspired me. And I had that kind of representation at a young age, it was really important to me. And I know that today would be important for many other children. So to be able to adapt the live action version of that, I’m very, very excited. So there are no real schedules, and I guess there are no real updates or anything like that. But we are in the process of building that. And I can’t wait to have something else to tell you later.
Since Static shock was originally created in 1993 in an effort to increase the representation of blacks in superhero comics, it’s no wonder the film adaptation has already attracted a ton of black talent in Jordan, Randy McKinnon, and possibly Reginald Hudlin as a producer. Jordan is currently one of the busiest stars in Hollywood as he stars in the possible opening of the franchise. No regrets, is currently filming a drama directed by Denzel Washington, and is preparing to debut as a director with Creed 3. Is making time for Static shock clearly means that it is an exciting project for him.
As a self-proclaimed comic book fan, it doesn’t seem like Jordan is ending the superhero genre any time soon. Jordan also recently responded to rumors about him playing Superman in producer JJ Abrams’ upcoming reboot. While Jordan’s future as Kal-El is uncertain, he will produce the next adaptation of Static shock. The next step for Jordan will be to find a director and, of course, a main star.
