In DC comics, Starro has played a significant role for a long time. He was the first villain the Justice League faced. Although Starro looks like a giant starfish, he is actually very intelligent, and not from Earth. Starro belongs to an ancient race of aliens called Star Conquerors. His plans included using his mind control powers to conquer planets. In the comics, Starro has been able to conquer more than nine galaxies by himself.

Not sure if Starro’s plans for the new Suicide squad It will involve trying to conquer Earth with your mind control abilities, but that’s one possibility. Regardless, it will be interesting to see such a unique, non-humanoid character come to life. Gunn is known for bringing a touch of camping and humor to his films and arguably there is nothing more camping than fighting a giant starfish. However, if anyone can make that work in a film medium, it would be Gunn in Suicide squad.
